How We Do It
Assembling a custom TMA follows a systematic process:

Tissue Identification
Tissue samples are identified. These may include normal tissue, primary tumors, and metastatic tissue to support comparisons.

Core Extraction
Tissue cores are extracted from the samples using a tissue microarrayer. You can specify your preferred core size, ranging from 0.6 to 2mm. Core samples are meticulously selected to represent specific features of the tissue according to your preference.

Core Arrangement
Cores are arranged into a paraffin block using a pre-set pattern. This allows each core to be identified by its location in the block.

Slide Preparation
Slides are prepared. In this phase, slices approximately 4-5µm thick are cut from the block and mounted onto glass slides. Several slides can be extracted from a single block, enabling cross-validation or testing under diverse conditions.

Staining/Analysis
Slides can be stained or analyzed under various conditions, depending on the intent and goals.

Key Benefits
With the capacity to examine multiple samples on a single slide, researchers can reduce reagent use, processing time, and costs. Results are statistically more significant across populations, as opposed to traditional tissue analysis, which can only accommodate one sample per slide.
